The awards are presented each year at the Annual Conference and Trade Show. You must be a USCC member to submit a nomination

AWARD DESCRIPTIONS

Compost Manufacturer of the Year Award—Large Scale
Awarded to a commercial-scale (>10,000 ton per year throughput) US composting facility, public or private, which has displayed excellence in both compost production and marketing/distribution. The nominated facility must be in operation for a minimum of 3 years and in regulatory
compliance Nominee must be a current USCC member.

Compost Manufacturer of the Year Award—Small Scale
Awarded to a small-scale (< 10,000 tons per year throughput) US composting facility, public or private, which has displayed excellence in both compost production and marketing/distribution. This category also includes community composting facilities. The nominated facility must be
in operation for a minimum of 3 years and in regulatory compliance Nominee must be a current USCC member.

Organics Diversion Program of the Year Award
Awarded to a program, public or private, that has successfully promoted and enabled organics diversion to composting or vermi-composting through demonstrated education and public outreach activities. The nominated program must be in operation for a minimum of 1 year. Nominee must be a current
USCC member.

Hi Kellogg Award
Awarded to an individual who has displayed outstanding service to the
U.S. composting industry over a period of many years. This award recognizes individuals who have left a lasting and positive impact on the U.S. composting industry. The nominee must have been active in the composting industry for a minimum of 10 years.

Rufus Chaney Award
Awarded to an individual who has displayed excellence in the area of compost research over a period of many years. This award recognizes those individuals whose breadth of research and/or research findings has had a significant impact on the composting industry and/or end users of compost. A nominee must have been active in compost/composting
research for a minimum of 10 years.

H. Clark Gregory Award 
Awarded to an individual who has displayed outstanding service to the composting industry through various grassroots efforts; including backyard composting, vermicomposting, or public or end-user education. A nominee must have been active in one or more of these compost-related efforts for a minimum of 5 years.

Clean Water Award
Awarded to a person or company in the compost industry or related field
who has completed projects that positively impacted water quality via the use of organics or increased awareness of the link between quality soils, compost and water quality. Projects by the person/company eligible for this award must either: use organic materials and have created clean water, prevent pollution, improve soil quality leading to improved water quality, conserve water or other practices related to water quality issues.

Jerome Goldstein Lifetime Achievement Award
Awarded to an individual who has achieved excellence in their field of study and to honor those who have made significant contributions over their professional career to the field of environmental stewardship and natural resource sustainability. Nominee must be a current USCC member.
