Home > STAR > Introducing the new STAR Reuse Council

It’s one of the R’s in the famous slogan we all know– REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE. But what exactly is reuse? What CAN be reused? How can we educate people on the importance of reusing items as the first step in a circular economy?

Well luckily STAR has formed a brand new council dedicated entirely to reuse education: the Reuse Council.

The mission of the Reuse Council is to promote waste diversion statewide through reuse by providing education, professional development, networking and advocacy for the public, commercial, and private reuse sector.

The Reuse Council will be hosting their first kick-off meeting on May 10, 2017 to discuss future plans for the year, set goals, and discuss topics and events you’d like to see tackled under this new council. Register for this meeting here! This council is open to anyone interested.

If you’re interested in joining or learning more info about the Reuse Council, email erina@recyclingstar.org, and be sure to check out the Reuse Council’s webpage for more info and event updates.
