The Texas Compost Council Summit and Training is an annual event which brings together composters from all over Texas to learn, collaborate, and network in one place. This event includes engaging sessions to earn CEU credits (tentative) and equipment demos.

Last Year:

The 2017 Compost Summit and Training was held just north of Dallas in Denton, where we hosted educational sessions, a compost pile competition, and equipment demos at the City of Denton Landfill & Compost Facility.

Activities included:

  • Engaging local, state, and national speakers
  • Field activities
  • Equipment demonstrations
  • Opportunities for attendees to earn TCEQ continuing education units (CEUs)

Registration fee (includes lunches, breaks, & hospitality reception):

  • For STAR/TCC Members – $100
  • For non-members – $150

The following CEU credits MAY be available:

  • SWANA Certification
    • Up to 10* Continuing Education Units
  • TCEQ – Texas Municipal Solid Waste Facility Supervisor License
    • Up to 17* Training Credit Hours
  • TCEQ – Texas Wastewater Operators License
    • Up to 17* Training Credit Hours

In 2016:

The 2016 Texas Compost Council Summit & Training took place in September in the city of Conroe, with educational sessions at the Lone Star Convention and Expo Center, and field activities and demonstrations held at Nature’s Way Resources and New Earth.
