The Soil Food Web

This webinar was presented April 28, 2016 and highlights the overall importance of the Soil Food Web and it’s association to healthy soils. The Soil Food Web is the living community of organisms within our soil. We will identify each group of organisms within the Soil Food Web under the microscope, and illustrate their ability to cycle nutrients, suppress diseases, and ultimately help to create soil structure that effectively holds water in our soils. By the end of this webinar, you will have a good understanding of the life below our feet.

The speaker is Jason Sanders, National Manager of Zero Waste Programs at Ecosafe.

Topics covered include:

  • Soil biology, species descriptions and roles
  • Tiny biota (bacteria, fungi, protozoa, nematodes)
  • Small biota (arthropods, earthworms)
