We are thrilled to announce our educational tour and networking events that we will offer as part of Summit. Be sure to sign up fast for these tours as space is limited and they will fill up!
Sunday Evening Networking Event– Kick-off Cruise on the Colonel:
Join us for music, drinks, snacks, and beautiful sunset views of the Galveston Bay on Sunday, October 28 from 6-8 p.m. on the Colonel Paddlewheel Boat for a networking event to help kick off Summit! Loading will begin at 5 p.m. and take off at 6 p.m. and dock back at 8 p.m. Be sure to join your other fellow attendees at the Poolside Terrace afterwards!
The Colonel is within walking distance from the hotel, so transportation is not needed. If you want to RSVP for additional people who will not be attending Summit, please contact the STAR office as space is limited. Please RSVP to attend this event with your Summit registration.
Networking Event– Poolside Terrace:
Hang out on the poolside terrace at Moody Gardens Hotel on Sunday evening from 6-9 p.m. We have reserved this space as another option for those who miss the boat or do not wish to attend the cruise so you can still hang out and network with other attendees. Enjoy drinks, live music, games, and more! We also have this space reserved on Tuesday evening from 8-10 p.m. following the Texas Environmental Leadership Awards Ceremony.
Wednesday Educational Tour of the NASA Redistribution & Utilization Warehouse , $15 Registration Fee:
Please join us for this very special and unique opportunity to hear about sustainability and waste diversion efforts at the Johnson Space Center (JSC) and tour their Redistribution and Utilization Warehouse. The R&U Warehouse recovers a variety of equipment ranging from Shuttle and space artifacts to frames, electronics and metal stock. These materials are then repurposed for design, construction, and engineering mock-ups’ allowing JSC to prioritize the reuse of materials, as well as avoid paying disposal and recycling costs.
This is a private tour open only to STAR Summit attendees and up to two guests for attendees. This tour is not available to the general public.
You must register for this tour by Oct. 15. There will be no on-site registration. Due to NASA facility security, attendees must be U.S. citizens to attend the tour. Participants will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the tour site. Tour cost includes a light breakfast provided at the hotel before the tour. Space is limited to 60 people and will be first come, first serve.
Reserve you spot in our NASA tour and networking events under the “Networking Events and Tours” section when registering for Summit.
