We are thrilled to announce our educational tours and networking events that we will offer as part of Summit. Be sure to sign up fast for these tours as space is limited and they will fill up!
Networking Event– The Goodnight, Play, Eat & Drink: Join us for games, drinks, and snacks on Sunday, October 22nd from 6-9 p.m. at The Goodnight for a networking event to help kick off Summit! The Goodnight includes vintage bowling lanes, billiards, ping pong, skeeball, shuffleboard, a private karaoke room, an outdoor patio, great cocktails, and a rotating food menu created by an award-winning chef. Transportation will not be provided. The venue is approximately 10 minutes away from the Doubletree Hotel. Carpooling is encouraged. If you want to RSVP for additional people who will not be attending Summit, please contact the STAR office as space is limited. You can RSVP to attend with your Summit registration.
Monday Evening Party at the MRF!– Balcones Recycling: Our friends at Balcones will be hosting a networking event at their Austin facility on Monday, Oct. 23 from 6-8 p.m. There will be free food trucks, local beer, wine, music, and of course, plenty of opportunities for networking and more! There will be a bus to transport people from the Doubletree Hotel to Balcones and back. Please RSVP here if you’d like to attend, this is a free event you don’t wanna miss! Tuesday Afternoon Educational Tour & Networking Event– Austin Creative Reuse: Join the STAR Reuse Council for a tour of Austin Creative Reuse, a local business that fosters conservation and reuse through creativity, education, and community building. By collecting, distributing, and selling reuse materials donated from industry and individuals, they are able to educate the community about how to reduce, reuse, and create in responsible and fun ways. There will also be a happy hour networking event after the tour. More details to come.
Wednesday Educational Tour of the Circuit of the Americas (COTA), $15 Registration Fee for Conference Attendees: Join STAR Central Texas for a great opportunity to see the motor racing facility in person and hear about their efforts to include sustainability and waste diversion during their events. Space is limited. A bus will be provided for transportation during the tour and will depart the Doubletree Hotel the morning of Oct. 25. If you are not attending Summit but would still like to join us on the tour, you can register here. Registration fee for non-Summit attendees is $25. Space is limited.
